What is Your Greatest Fear as a Buyer Agent?

Have you ever had an agent call you all upset over something and was unable to clearly enunciate the problem? I'm sure you have. Not only do we deal with our client's emotions in the Sacramento real estate business, but we also need to manage the emotional rollercoasters some buyer agents present.

Not every agent can remain calm under pressure. Once anxiety hits, it actually disables some agents and can cause miscommunication because they are facing their biggest fear. What is your greatest fear as a buyer agent? Apart from the homeless bag lady stuff . . .

You can read more in my personal blog today about The Worst Nightmare for Buyer Agents in Sacramento.

What Can You Do About Bad Home Inspections?
share
It seems easy to get reviews as a home inspector and to post those reviews online because, I hate to say, most buyers who post reviews don't really understand their home inspections. It's not a world in which they live. For example, they don't know… more
How Death and Real Estate Are Intertwined

I did not know what hospice was when my mother died. My sister said she was in hospice and I thought it was like a rehabilitation center that was somehow connected to the hospital. I figured I'd see her again when she got out. She was always in the… more
Selling Sacramento Homes Over Market Value

At what point does a listing agent need to take responsibility for the buyer's agent's performance or knowledge? Well, I say never. It is not my job to ask the buyer's agent if he checked the comparable sales or discussed the value of the home with… more
Seller Repairs When Home Selling
share
The fact is most sellers do not have any idea what kind of repairs they should do before selling a home. They draw from their own limited experience about what they might like to see if they were buying a home, which often has no bearing whatsoever… more
Why Sellers Tend to Reject Sacramento Offers
share
I do not know if other listing agents go into great detail about why the seller rejected a bunch of offers but I do know that I do not. Although I am asked all of the time. Sometimes repeatedly. There is no upside to explaining why. On top of this,… more
Be Aware When You Tour Homes for Sale

I have a listing in which every time a person enters the home, the seller sends me pictures of the intruders, er, visitors, from his security camera. I get to watch them on the front steps, wandering through the living room, opening closets and… more
Have You Seen Motown the Musical?
share
Who doesn't like Motown music? Nobody, that's who. I don't know a single person my age who doesn't have fond memories of that time period, from the early 1960s into the 1980s. You get a chance at this musical to see Michael Jackson as a kid, and… more
Condition of Home After an Inspection

This goes beyond the usual tracking of leaves or dirt into the entry. But it is still unusual to receive a phone call from my seller after a home inspection because the home inspectors left the home in a mess or, worse, unsecured. Although, I will… more
Just How Far Should a Sacramento Listing Agent Go?

I do try to help brand new agents in Sacramento. We were all new once. Even when sometimes it doesn't make sense for me to do so, I might try to help them out with their buyers if they don't know what to say or how to go about handling a sensitive… more
