You'll never guess who came to my office last week! OK, a couple photos here will give you a hint. None other than the wonderful and talented stager from Granite Bay, Lori Polk and that serial entrepreneur, multi-faceted real estate broker from Wisconsin, Tom Braatz. When they arrived, I had an emergency offer to prepare -- you know the type, buyers were thinking about buying a home and on the way to the airport decided they must put in an offer. Since it was a Land Park home they were buying, there was another counter floating around, so we had to act fast. I apologized at not being readily available, but Tom and Lori were very accommodating and laid back about it.
It was a sheer pleasure to meet with such an energy-filled couple. And they're just like you'd imagine, charming and beautiful people. Tom's energy alone can fill a room; he's busting at the seams with enthusiasm.
We walked across the street to have lunch at G.V. Hurley's on J Street and 28th. They were both sensible diners and ordered salads with their healthy-sounding sandwiches. Me? I opted for a burger and fries. And we talked! We talked for three solid hours. I can't remember the last time I had such fun with real estate professionals. I swear, if you ever have a chance to meet up with fellow Active Rainers, whether it's in your own community or out-of-state, you might want to jump at the chance.
Tom and Lori are not only witty, funny and amusing, but they are extremely passionate about what they do, and it's reflected in their words and actions. One of the traits we both share is extreme honesty. They live and breathe their ethics and integrity, and I love it. We sometimes finished each other sentences and all three of us practically talked at the same time!
Here's the kicker: It's entirely possible that Tom Braatz will move to Sacramento, and I will do everything in my power to help in any way that I can.
Tom and Lori, if you are reading this, let me say it was my sincere pleasure to have met you, and I have a sneaky suspicion we are on our way to becoming fast friends.
