Whenever I learn something new, I share it. I share it in hopes that my little golden nugget will help somebody else. We're all on this planet together. I also hope that perhaps I will inspire other people to share what they know. It's good to learn from somebody else's good fortune, but it's even better to learn from their mistakes. I don't want to make all of my own mistakes.
#1 thing I learned recently. When you are on the cusp of turning 60, do not suddenly decide to do push-ups. Bad idea. Oh, sure, it's all fun and giggles when you first drop to the ground to do a push-up and discover that one push-up is totally impossible. That's a weird awakening.
I am not talking about a one-handed push-up such as that delivered by then 73-year-old Jack Palance at the 1991 Oscars, no sirree. I'm talking about using two hands with palms flat, positioning butt horizontal to the ground, toes supporting body. Upsidaisy. Not.
It got better as the weeks went on. I could drop and do 10 or 12 push-ups several times a day. The purpose of this exercise was to firm my upper arms. It was a good idea, I thought. Never hurts to do a little exercise throughout the day, especially when my days as a Sacramento short sale agent can be pretty stressful and long.
Well, now I have a pain in my shoulder and my arm, which I believe is directly connected to doing push-ups. It's in my left arm. My doctor calls it frozen shoulder, and this will now require physical therapy. So, my advice to you guys bordering on geezerville, before beginning a new exercise program, ask your doctor how to get started.
The #2 thing I learned is Acrobat X Pro will reduce a PDF file. In the past, I've had to print out and then fax to myself these ridiculously large PDFs sent to me by other agents and their buyers. My Acrobat X, though, will open the file and reduce it to a more manageable size. You can't run a short sale business without Acrobat.
The #3 thing I learned is if you want to see your cat go absolutely crazy -- nuttier than any other normal day -- try PureBites chicken breast treats for cats. They are freeze dried. Our ocicat Pia turns into a crack-addicted maniac if I so much as touch the bag. She'll punch your eyes out if you get in her way. She won't let any other cat in the house near them. She's insane. It drives her nuts. I'm certain that Pia would overthrow a small country if her reward was fistfuls of PureBites chicken breast treats.
