If You Cannot Sell Your Home in Sacramento

Even though we have an increase of inventory in Sacramento, demand seems to match. However, some homes in our incredibly hot seller's market are not selling. Why is that, do you think? I know everybody likes to say price, but it is not always price. Part of it is the expectations Millennials have set for themselves. They tend to look at properties differently than, say, Baby Boomers.

And I blame the darn flippers for the Millennial attitudes. Because solid older homes without updates are not as desirable to buyers anymore. Ten years ago, those types of homes would be snapped up, but not today. There are other reasons, too. You can read more in my personal blog today at this link: Why You Cannot Sell Your House in This Hot Sacramento Market.

When Should Sacramento Home Sellers Reduce the Price?
When I first got into real estate, in the 1970s, we were taught to never do a price reduction on a home. Because once you reduce, buyers wonder how much further you will go. In some ways, I still follow that format. However, real estate in 2018,… more

It can happen to any Realtor, and the more transactions an agent closes, the more often it is likely to happen. I'm talking about what happens when a Realtor does not like her client. Should she continue working with that client? What if the agent… more
How Differently Elk Grove Realtors See Your Laguna Home
When I first talked with the seller of the home on Laguna Woods Drive, she had in mind a very low price, way underpriced. By more than $50, 000. Usually it's the other way around, you know, sellers in Elk Grove often think their home is worth a lot… more
How Should a Listing Agent Respond to Grilling?
Not talking about hamburgers and hot dogs when I say grilling. I mean the rapid-fast firing of questions from curious buyer's agents when they try to extract information from listing agents. There you are, for example, at Arden Mall in Sacramento,… more
What Exactly Constitutes Closing a Sacramento Escrow
Right after contract acceptance, my transaction coordinator sends out an estimated timeline for the transaction. Which I forward to the seller. And you can bet they keep an eagle eye on that timeline, LOL. The day before the first contingency… more
The Average Length of Time for a Sacramento Listing
Let's see a show of hands. How many real estate agents listed short sales prior to 2012? And how many of those short sale listings sold and closed within 6 months? OK, now you can peel yourselves up off the floor and stop laughing. Hey, I wasn't… more
Historic Woodland California Home with Issues Closed
This is the story of another home I sold twice and got paid once. But I always do what it takes to close. Some agents get upset, throw in the towel and walk away, and I've never understood that attitude. My promise to my sellers is I will do… more
Story of Another Closing in Rancho Cordova
