Hawaii-Sourced Handmade Lunch in Kona

As a general rule for a person like me, I do not wholeheartedly endorse gluten-free foods because it annoys me. Sure, some people are most likely gluten intolerant but there are a whole bunch of people who just grab on to that thought to be cool, I dunno. And vendors put gluten-free on their packaging because it makes people buy the product, not because there was any gluten in it to start with. Of course bike tires are gluten free. So is lard.

In addition to that, vegans and vegetarians can be a bit much, too. Picky, picky, picky, is all I've got to say, LOL. Reminds me of a girlfriend who back in the 1970s screamed at me because I grilled a steak in our oven broiler. Said she could not stand the odor of cooked meat and it was disgraceful. Floored me because she grew up eating meat. And you know what? Now that this girlfriend is 66, she eats meat. Has no recollection of that conversation.

However, all of this is not to say that meals geared toward vegans or vegetarians or even those who believe down to the soles of their animal hide-free feet that they can't consume gluten, that meals centered on those ideals are not nutrious or delicious. Because they are. Ya just gotta get over the weirdness of foods you don't recognize or can't pronounce. I had to tell my neighbor yesterday how to pronounce quinoa.
