Many people try their hand at real estate after coming from title or escrow backgrounds, but not everybody makes it as a Realtor. In fact, it can be a bit of a drawback for people who think they know everything. I was once one of those people who thought she knew more than she did, and yet the older I get, the less I realize I know.
I thought having 5 years in title and escrow was enough to pass the real estate exam without studying for it. That's why I took the exam 5 times before I passed. The fifth time I said, oh, what the hell, I'll study for it. You can read more in my personal blog today at this link: How a Title and Escrow Background Saved the Day as a Sacramento Realtor.
