When I sign on to write my original blog content in the morning on my personal website, I often look at the stats that show some of my popular incoming search terms. Many of those searches are property addresses of homes for sale in Sacramento. I think I have figured out why home buyers are looking on my website for listings in Sacramento and not at some other place. Not only that, but some of the more fun searches are "whether a tennis ball explodes in the microwave" or "sacramento jury duty" or "Double Bubble vs. Bazooka." I write about everything, just about.
People visit my website for all kinds of reasons, and while some of these people might not be in the market to buy or sell a home today, they may remember me when they are. It doesn't hurt to freely give people information and share thoughts, even if it's not real estate related, and even if it's not my own real estate listing, too.
This morning a guy in Gold River called about my listing in Gold River, except I don't have a listing in Gold River right now; I have pending sale in Anatolia, and I let him know that. He said he found my phone number from a website, and he is a neighbor concerned about a leaking sprinkler head in his neighbor's yard. I let him know how considerate he was to try to find the owner instead of reporting the poor person to the City of Rancho Cordova. It's easier just to report an offender in this drought, and some people never stop to think first, they just hop on their high horse, and no, it hasn't happened to me.
I offered to look up the listing agent's information for him. Turns out the listing was withdrawn from MLS a few days ago, which I shared with the caller. I let him know that if he is successful at getting the seller's phone number, he should mention to the seller that since her listing is no longer on the market, if she still wants to sell, she should call the number 1 Sacramento Realtor, Elizabeth Weintraub. I'll sell that home in Gold River!
The caller then gave me his address and mentioned he will want to sell in another year or so, and I should send him my business card and stay in touch.
