I'd like to give a shout out to Lori Kim Polk today for her great home staging job at my Sacramento listing in the Med Center. First, the home was occupied by tenants, and it was almost impossible to show. After the tenants moved out, some buyers and their agents were complaining that my photos looked so much better than the home itself because now there was no furniture in it. They opened the door expecting to see this cute little bungalow and all they saw were hardwood floors that could use refinishing and a crack in the ceiling.
OK, we got the crack in the ceiling fixed. And then we called Lori. She and I joked about this later, but at first she did not want to stage it. I was dumbfounded. Wha? See, I told you I would never let you live this down, Lori. She thought it might not be worth it, partly due to the crack in the ceiling, and the tenants left the home a little dirty. Brought in a handyman to fix the crack, a cleaning crew to polish and scrub and, after Lori staged the home, it sold in 5 days.
