There is only so much shopping and stuffing one's face with ice cream that a girl can do during a weekend in Sausalito. There are plenty of shops selling all sorts of trinkets, jewelry, fashions and souvenirs, and you'll find an ice cream store on almost every other block. If you find an ice cream store without a waiting line, rush in and be first in line to place an order, even if you don't want any ice cream, because it will be a rare thing to find and experience in Sausalito -- an ice cream store without a line.
I bought a date / fudge / caramel ice cream cone, and I wasn't even hungry. I just couldn't let the opportunity go by that there I was, in front of an ice cream store without a person inside except an employee. As I sat down to lick my cone, crowds of people suddenly appeared out of thin air, like they were beamed into their positions by somebody in outer space.
A place I'm betting you haven't seen on a trip to Sausalito is the Point Bonita Lighthouse, and there's also Rodeo Beach. While lines of cars were backed up for miles at the Stinson Beach exit off Highway 101, there was no line of traffic to Rodeo Beach.
