Before I tell you about my new short sale listing in Rocklin -- which is an incredible home -- I've got to share a story about what happened yesterday when Myrl Jeffcoat and I went to Old Sacramento for lunch and Gold Rush Days. We seem to spend a great deal of time laughing when we are together, especially when we are finishing each other's sentences. Even though we had just spent two hours yakking, we were still engrossed in conversation when we returned to the parking garage.
"Hey, Myrl," I say, pointing at a parking ticket machine, "Looks like we have to prepay our ticket." Myrl had left the parking ticket on her dash. So, we got into the elevator to go to the 4th floor. We press the button and keep talking. The doors open on the 2nd floor. Whoa, parking ticket machines were on the second floor as well. That's cool. Myrl says she hopes the machines are on the 4th floor, too, so we don't have to go back to the first floor to pay and then back up again.
We keep talking. Doors open. We're back to the second floor. How did that happen? Push button. Keep talking. Doors open, we're back to the second floor again.
Suddenly, it dawns on me. I don't think it dawned on Myrl. So, I don't feel so badly about it. There is no first floor! We had been on the second floor all along and the elevator had not moved at all. I don't know what button Myrl had been pushing, but it wasn't a floor button. Fortunately, as a Sacramento short sale agent, I'm definitely on the ball when it comes to listing and selling homes. Elevators? Not so much.

Hi Mary: Well, we might just come visit you one of these days. When you least expect it. I know that is something I would do and, from what I know about Myrl, it's something she would do, too. Except for the part where I'd probably fly into Denver and rent a car, and Myrl is probably more likely to say, "Hey, I could spend the night in Phoenix, then Albuquerque," and hop in the car. And truth be known, she could probably talk me into that. She's got the important thing. Road music.

Elizabeth- I've been to old Sacramento on a vacation a few years ago. We had a hard time finding which parking lot we parked in. Thank heavens there wasn't any elevators too!

Hi Linda: Old Sacramento is like a private playground, and it's close enough to my house that if we wanted to walk there, we could. Just go down Broadway from Land Park, turn right on Front Street and keep going. That's sort of the back way to it. Myrl was impressed with that route. Said it brought back memories to her.
