An Affordable Natomas Home That is Not a Short Sale at End of Quiet Street For $160,000

3608 bridgeford drive, sacramento, ca 95834This is what going to see Robin Williams at the Crest Theatre just before bedtime gets me. I mean, there is no other answer. All night long I had a strange dream in which I kept waking up and going back to sleep, picking right up where I had left off. Without going into all the sordid details, let's just say it involved moving to Idaho and into a house with Wayne Coyne, the lead singer for Flaming Lips. Perhaps I should not have stuffed that entire bag of buttered popcorn into my face at the theatre.

If you're looking for an affordable home in south Natomas, here is a fabulous opportunity for you. And guess what? It's not a short sale. It's also not a foreclosure. This home has been in the owner's family since it was built. This is a 3-bedroom, 2 1/2-bath home that is located near a grassy field, at the end of a cul-de-sac, amidst a lovely pocket of homes built in the mid- to late-1980s. It boasts 1,428 square feet, according to the Sacramento County Assessor, but with its soaring ceilings in the entry and living room, plus vaults in the master, it appears much more spacious.

The first thing you notice is a somewhat tiered pebble and concrete sidewalk leading past a towering tree and neatly manicured bushes to a covered overhang at the front door. Probably because the home faces west, the west side has wood siding but the rest of the home has a stucco exterior. The entry is tiled, and you walk into the living room / dining room area. There are a couple of chandeliers, and a very pretty brick, wood-burning fireplace. Just when you're wondering which direction you'll place the dining room table, you notice that the kitchen is located to the left of the formal dining area, but there is also a breakfast nook on the other side of the kitchen, so maybe you don't need two dining areas after all. Maybe you could instead use that space for a home office?

Also, off the kitchen is a family room. That's the added bonus I didn't expect to see in this home. Plus, sliding glass doors in the family room lead to the back yard, with a covered patio, gardening area, apple tree and tool shed. The neighbor's lemon tree is so big that part of it hangs over the fence, so the owner of this home will get free lemons without having to water the tree or take care of it.

Upstairs is where you'll find all the bedrooms. Although there is a half bath downstairs, there are also two more baths upstairs for a total of three. The master suite over looks the back yard, is vaulted and its mirrored closet doors run from the floor to ceiling. The other two bedrooms are good-sized, each with their own closets. There is a full bath in the hall.

This home is ready for occupancy, in move-in condition, near Natomas High School.

Not sure I understand the dream, also cannot believe that you have a listing that is not a short sale. Good for you.Best of luck for a quick sale (although you do not need luck).

Love that tree in the front yard.  Dare to dream that my little bitty builder planted trees will ever look anywhere near that.

Hey Melissa: Well, I think the dream has to do with the fact that the last time I saw Flaming Lips, the band was dressed up in animal costumes on stage and waving flashlights at the crowd. It wasn't that long ago, actually. They played the Paramount in Oakland. And when I saw Robin Williams, part of his act was from his old HBO special about animals in the yard.

Hey Chris Ann: Sacramento is the City of Trees! I planted a couple of maples a year or two ago and one is already 15-feet.
