An agent yesterday called me a crack up. Because I told him: If your buyer is happy, my life is complete. OK, so maybe I was half joking but I was also half serious. As a Sacramento short sale agent, I am concerned if the buyers for my listings are happy. Primarily because if the buyers are not happy, they can make my life and my short sale sellers' life a living hell. And a living hell is not where I want to be or anybody should be.
We short sale agents have enough stress. How much stress, you ask? I'll tell you. Yesterday, I stood at my FAX machine and pressed "copy" over and over. Nothing happened. You know what they say about doing something over and over, right? And getting the same results? That's the definition of insanity.
My fax machine has been acting weird lately. It tells me I am offline when I am faxing. And it won't produce a copy. I've been too busy to work on it. It's one of those annoyances that is not a high priority until it is.
So, I asked my husband to take a look at my FAX and figure out what's wrong with it. He looked at the function buttons, and I thought he was going to press menu and do the things I have already done. But, no. He opened the tray. It was empty. I had no paper.
It's the ability to laugh at myself, out loud and very loudly, that brings me back to center. A place of peace.

Good morning Elizabeth, I hate to say this...but, yes I have also done this....printer didn't work because the paper tray was empty.....been there, done that....you just have to laugh at yourself. I like your new listing, especially the beautiful pool. Suggested!
Hi Elizabeth, when operating under stress it's usually the simplest things that trip us up - not the important stuff. Always good for a laugh, like taking a wine glass out of the cupboard in the morning instead of the intended coffee cup! Have a terrific day I love that backyard pool and spa.
Elizabeth, I am laughing my ass off! This is so funny, raw and real! I so enjoy your writings. I so embrace "It's the ability to laugh at myself, out loud and very loudly, that brings me back to center. A place of peace." I so relate to this!
Hi Rebecca: My fax machine stopped making copies a couple of weeks ago.
Hi Mary: There's more than one way to skin a cat. Although all of them involve removing the skin from a cat, which is totally and utterly repulsive when you think about that saying.
Hi Kathleen: My husband is a belt & suspenders kinda guy. So looking in the paper tray would be the first thing he would try, right next to checking to see if it's plugged in.
Elizabeth, I hereby dub your an honerary blonde! This is totally something I would do and of course my husband or daughter can fidure out things like where I left my keys when they're on my finger and where my sunglasses are.... yep on my head. I guess it goes to show you, if you can't laugh at yourself, who can you klaugh at!
Stress can be a killer, Elizabeth! That pressing of the COPY button instead of the FAX button is a warning sign to breathe deeply, and take a chill. A key component is being more cooperative with parties, rather than adversarial. All parties usually benefit in the process. It sounds like you have a bit of a head start on that.
That's a wonderful looking backyard oasis in your new listing photo, Elizabeth! Good luck in getting it successfully sold!
Hey Linda: I will be a honorary blonde any day. Just ask Myrl, here, who didn't get the fact that I was actually trying to make a COPY by pressing the COPY button because I did not want to FAX.
We MUST be insane to do short sales. Every single one is a challenge.
Congrats on the various listings, and wishing you all the best in getting them not only sold, but approved!
Well actually, Elizabeth, knowing you, I was assuming that you were trying to FAX and COPY at the same time. Knowing your penchant for multi-tasking and all. . .tsk, tsk! But then we know what they say about assuming don't we:-)
