Very nice. Half plex = du plex ?
Posted by Kevin McGrath RE/MAX BRAVO (RE/MAX BRAVO - Fredericksburg/Spotsylvania) over 4 years ago

Hi Kevin: Yes, it's called a halfplex because somebody else owns the other half. If both sides were sale, it would be called a duplex, unless both sides were deeded individually, then it would be called two halfplexes. :)

In some parts of the country, they call this sort of structure a side-by-side.

Some people confuse these with townhomes, but they are much nicer than townhomes. Halfplexes usually have more lawn and back-yard space than townhomes because the lots are bigger. In some, and especially those located in the gated community of Riverlake, from both the outside and inside, it is virtually impossible to tell that one half is connected to the other. It feels very much like a standalone home, but is much more affordable than a standalone.

Elizabeth:  Nice home!  I especially like the first three photos.  The view across the lake is a million dollar view.  What an awesome photo.  BTW, your penguin is just adorable!
