Which Do You Prefer: Charcoal or Gas Grill?

It seems that everything we have at our house in Hawaii is so much nicer than the stuff at our house in Sacramento. But that's probably because it's newer. My husband keeps telling me that I live in Hawaii now, but I really don't. Just part of the year and a few weeks here and there. OK, maybe a couple of months at a time, but I still live and work in Sacramento.

Although I do list homes in Sacramento while I am in Hawaii. I sell and close them from our house in Hawaii. So maybe I do live here part-time. Which is why I decided we needed to buy a gas grill. Hey, if I have to cook for myself. I dragged my husband off to Lowe's. You can read more in my personal blog today at this link: The Charcoal vs Gas Grill Debate Comes Home to Roost.

Hi Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Real Estate Agent, Top 1% of Lyon Agents

Great post.

Now a days we like the gas grill for the convenience.

Miss the days of just starting a fire in the pit in the back yard and plopping a grate across the top and cooking over wood.

'll these crazy city ordinances about not having roaring wood fires in the middle of the back yard...

Thankfully I am one generation away from ever having cooked over 'Buffalo Chips'...

Happy Grilling!

Me?, Elizabeth. Actually neither one. I just don't ever grill... it's the NYC/Parisian/London lifestyle I'm used to. When we moved to Charlotte we bought a big gas grill because it seemed the thing to do now that we had a huge terrace and were no longer in a city. I used it twice. Then when we moved the last time 12 years ago, I passed the grill on to our daughter in Colorado.

I have loved my gas Weber for a few years now.  However, recently, the burners don't seem to burn as hot as they should.  I took it a part, cleaned it, and checked it out.  All the parts seem in good repair, but the problem still exists.  I had contemplated turning it into a charcoal grill.  But, instead found a repairman that will come out and work on it.  It looks almost new, so will likely go that route.
