Who Goes Out for a Good Steak Anymore?

Except for the steak dinner a friend invited me to in Kona a while back, I have not readily thought of going out for a steak. It used to be a craving but I have lessened my intake of red meat for years. Not on purpose, it just sort of happened. For one thing, it gets harder to eat once living things than it does vegetables. From a perspective. Sometimes it is hard to forget it was once a live animal. If I had to score my own meals, I could not kill a critter. I would rather dine on grass.

However, there is still nothing like a good steak. Fortunately, Sacamento has several wonderful restaurants in the Midtown area for steak as well. You can read more about it in my personal blog today at this link: The Waterboy is a Great Spot for Steak.

Steaks houses in Denver are still doing a good business and still have a long wait line.  The problem is the price of a good steak is so high compare to years ago.

I don't eat a lot of red meat but I do enjoy a good piece of Prime Rib occasionally... with horse radish, of course.

Hi Elizabeth- - - I can't/won't say I have eliminated red meat from my diet over the years but it's certainly been reduced. As for the menu for the evening, your appetizer selection seems to be a good choice. As for dining at an exclusively steak-only restaurant that's a rarity to find.  Maybe even non-existent.

Hi Elizabeth- Larry and I don't eat as much red meat as we used to and even when out, I rarely order a steak. The last time I did we were at the Palm Beach Grill which is famous for their Prime Rib and I ended up eating about a third of it. I'd much rather have a good hamburger. 

Larry used to be a hunter, so I learned to get past eating something that was previously living. That said, our venison tamales were delicious.

Oddly enough, it's been awhile since I have had a good steak while out.  And, it was at Morton's downtown Sacramento.  It isn't that I've had bad steaks while out, it's just that I don't usually order them.  I have two really good meat cooks in my family.  I get my fill that way!
