It's raining this morning in Sacramento as I write this, and we're headed out for the airport. I don't know why they have flights this early to LAX. Nobody in their right mind should have to be at the airport before 5 AM. It's such an awful hour.
I've never flown anywhere on Christmas Day before. If I'm lucky, the airport parking lot will be empty, and there will be no long line for security wrapped around the terminal.
At least all my escrows are tidied up and ready to close in my absence. I worked late into last night to make sure all my documents were faxed and emailed to all the necessary parties. But you know how it is -- I'll still be checking my BlackBerry to see if there's a last-minute emergency somewhere. My concesssion is I will leave my Jawbone at home. It's just too hard to turn off my brain and not think about real estate, but I'm going to give it my best. Aloha, everybody!
P. S. With any luck, I'll post photographs from Kauai.

At least you aren't flying towards the East Coast. Have a good time in Kauai. Try to forget real estate and have a Happy New Year.
Elizabeth - Good luck with the flights. My experience has been that Christmas Day is a great time to fly. People are nicer, because they feel for you (as they hope you do too) and the planes are not crowded. I've whizzed by security in seconds on Christmas Day and been stuck virtually alone in the terminal as I waited for my plane to board. Good luck and enjoy Hawaii (my favorite place on earth).
Good luck, enjoy the trip. No snow, no real estate...relaxation....
Have a very Merry Aloha Christmas!!!
As an ex-pilot, you will probably have a good flight today. People tend to be a bit friendlier, of course there's always the scrooge or two. Have a great vacation in Hawaii.
The wind is blowing like crazy, but no snow yet. I too, obviously, am thinking about Real Estate. Enjoy Kuaui, it is my favorite of the Islands that I have visited. (who am I kiddng, I loved Maui and Oahu also!)
Wow! What an experience to go to Hawaii!! I am sure you won't get REal Estate out of your brain but there will be moments when you forget about it :). Have a spectacular time! KM
Elizabeth - Is this your first time in Hawaii? My husband and I want to go for our 25th wedding anniversary in 2009... Merry Christmas! :)
Elizabeth - Enjoy and have a great time! We have flown a few times on the 24th and 25th and it has been nice, no crowds. ~Rita

Elizabeth, have a wonderful, wonderful time! ;-) We'll be watching for photos. ;-)
Elizabeth -
We go away the week before Christmas every year and fly back Christmas morning. We were coming back from Orlando about the time you were heading to the airport.
It works out great. No security lines, half full planes, most employees in a good mood.
Hope your trip went well.
Have a GREAT trip Elizabeth. I can't think of too many places I would rather be than Kauai right now.
Elizabeth,
I hope the trip goes well.....we loved it when we went......enjoy.
