Land Park Community Association - Please Make the Pain Stop

orange tree in land parkIn the past week, I have received 3 letters in the U. S. mail, 4 emails and one email from a former president of the Land Park Community Association. I don't know about other Land Park residents, but I am looking forward to the day the pain, the bickering and all this in-fighting stops. It's like watching a guy banging his head back and forth on a door jamb and asking "why are you doing that," to which the response is, "Because it feels so good when I stop."

The special membership meeting of the LPCA is Wednesday, February 11th at 6:30 PM at Holy Spirit School, located at 3920 West Land Park Drive.

Here are the amendments the membership will vote on:

Bylaw Amendment # 1 -

Increase Board Members from 10 to 15

Bylaw Amendment # 2
Changing the Nominations Committee process for Director Elections

Bylaw Amendment # 3
Limit on the years Board Members may serve

Added (not on original petition)
Bylaw Amendment #4
Establishment of Advisory Board

Yuk....I tried to get involved in my HOA years ago and it was a nightmare. Ridiculous waste of time going 'round and 'round and never accomplishing anything.

Elizabeth:  At least you are only dealing with one association.  In Braemar, the Braemar HOA is like the federal government.  And within Braemar there are several "sub-associations"....these are like states.  I happen to be on the Board of the sub-asssociation that is not really a sub-association.  Going back to that state analogy, it's Washington, DC.  Must follow the rules of the Feds, but has no say in what the laws are.  There is always drama.

Sound like someone has too much time on theirhands. I would guess the emotions will be high on the 11th. Good luck.

ARe you in this association?  Leader of it?  I have a friend who is slowly going nuts because of being in top position of the condo association.  She looks older everyday.  LOL

Since I said I had done my last LPCA blog, I really appreciate you taking up the cause!  I have been fortunate enough to have both sides thinking that I am on their side, so I am not only getting the "official" mailings and e-mails from both sides, I am getting the personal rants as well. Since I truly think this is going to come to some kind of lawsuit by someone, I have resorted to keeping a binder of all of the communications...it is about an inch thick at this point! See you Wednesday night!

At one time I considered being a board member, Barbara, but not anymore.

Hi Paula: I particularly enjoyed the correspondence I received from the Renaissance group saying not to send a proxy to LPCA because they would throw it away; however, I absolutely should send my yes vote to the Renaissance because they'll make sure it gets counted -- without addressing what would happen if I sent a no vote to the Renaissance, implying that if I voted no, the Renaissance would toss it.

It's my understanding that if a person wanted to vote no, that person would not need to attend.
